Budd Udell was born on April 4, 1934 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From 1958 to 1961 he was the Composer and Arranger for the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. From 1962 to 1963 he was the Assistant Director of Bands at Indiana University, where he obtained a Masters in Music Education degree in 1965. From 1963 to 1970 he was the Director of Bands and a faculty member at West Virginia University. In 1972 he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition from the University of Cinci...
